The Turkish State Cemetery, opened in 1988, is a memorial-park cemetery holding the graves of Turkey's presidents and of 61 commanders who held at least a divisional command during the Turkish War of Independence. It covers 536,000 square metres within the Atatürk Forest Farm grounds in Ankara. It was commissioned by Kenan Evren with the aim of bringing together the presidents and the commanders of the War of Independence.
