Editor's Note
The Çatalan Bridge, also known as the West Bridge, is a 1,575-metre-long bridge crossing the Seyhan Dam Lake in Adana, connecting the city to villages and vacation homes north of the lake. It was built as part of a drinking-water project to carry water pipes but also serves road traffic on its three-lane deck. Constructed by a consortium beginning in 1998 and opened on 17 June 2002, it was the longest bridge in Turkey until 2007.
