Editor's Note
Bagavan was an ancient locality in the Bagrevand principality of the Kingdom of Armenia, near the village of Taşteker in today's Taşlıçay district of Ağrı (west of modern Diyadin). Lying on a tributary of the Euphrates at the foothills of Mount Npat, north of Lake Van, it held one of the major temples of pre-Christian Armenia, and after the Christianization of Armenia it became the site of a large church and monastery. Pillaged in 1877, it was completely destroyed after 1915.
