Editor's Note
The Gazi University Painting and Sculpture Museum, founded in 1979 as the "İsmail Hakkı Tonguç Museum" in the university's rectorate building, was Ankara's first art museum. With roots going back to the 1930s, it was reorganised in 1990 by Prof. Dr. Yüksel Bingöl and given its present name. Its 281 works are arranged in three main collections: painting, printmaking, and sculpture-ceramics.
