Editor's Note
The Gendarmerie Museum is located at Ahlatlıbel in Ankara. After work that began in 1996 it opened on 21 November 2005, aiming to present the history of the gendarmerie. Its ground floor houses an Ottoman-period exhibition hall and its first floor Republican-period halls, where the organisation's historical development, weapons, uniforms and photographs are displayed in chronological order.
