Çukurova, or the Cilician Plain, is a large fertile plain in the Cilicia region of southern Anatolia, taking in the easternmost parts of Mersin, southern and central Adana, western Osmaniye and northwestern Hatay provinces. With about 6.4 million people, it is one of Turkey's most densely populated regions.
