The Çanakkale Archaeological Museum displayed archaeological finds from Çanakkale and its surroundings between 1984 and 2018. It stood on the Anatolian side of the Dardanelles, close to the ruins of Troy, exhibiting marble sculptures, steles and sarcophagi from sites such as Troia, Assos, Tenedos and Alexandria Troas. Its contents were moved to the Troy Museum, established in 2018, and the building now houses the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Provincial Public Library.
