Editor's Note
Kalem Island is an Aegean island administratively part of the Dikili district of İzmir. Lying near the town of Bademli, it is about 400 metres from the mainland (Anatolia). It is a narrow island, reaching a maximum length of about 1.5 kilometres from north to south.
