Editor's Note
Akdağ is a mountain between the districts of Çivril, Kızılören and Sandıklı, spanning Denizli and Afyonkarahisar provinces. Its higher peak reaches 2,446 metres, making it the second highest mountain in the Aegean region. A fault-bounded horst, it overlooks Lake Işıklı to the southwest, where its waters drain via the Kufi Çayı.
