Bozcaada, formerly Tenedos, is a district of Çanakkale province and Turkey's third largest island, the second largest in the Aegean after Gökçeada. With an area of 37 km² and lying 6 km from the mainland, it is the only Turkish district (apart from metropolitan central districts) without a village. Its economy centres on viticulture, wine, fishing and sea tourism, and its population swells with holidaymakers in summer.
