The Port of Samsun, branded Samsunport by its operator, is the largest port on Turkey's Black Sea coast. Long served only by jetties, the port city of Samsun saw construction of its modern harbour begin in 1953, and the port opened in 1963. It was later expanded to become a major maritime trade hub for the region.
