Kocatepe Mosque, in Ankara's Kocatepe quarter near Kızılay, is the largest mosque in the city. Its construction began in 1967 and was completed in 1987 by the Turkish Religious Foundation. Its size and prominent location have made it a landmark visible from almost anywhere in central Ankara.
