Editor's Note
Saint Paul Church, also known as the Bebekli Kilise, is a Roman Catholic church in central Adana, near 5 Ocak Square. It was built by the Jesuit Order in 1870 and served the Armenian and European Catholic communities. After the Armenian genocide and the founding of the Republic of Turkey, it was handed over to the Apostolic Vicariate of Anatolia. Its 2.5-metre bronze statue of Mary resembled a baby to passers-by, giving the church its popular name, the "Church with the Baby."
