Editor's Note
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross on Aghtamar Island in Lake Van is a medieval Armenian Apostolic cathedral. It was built between 915 and 921 by the architect Manuel on the orders of King Gagik I as a palatine church for the kings of Vaspurakan, and later served as the seat of the Catholicosate of Aghtamar. Today it functions as a museum.
