Artvin Castle, also known as Livane Castle, stands in the centre of Artvin with high walls wrapping around the rock on which it sits. Its multi-storey tower survives in fairly good condition, and other remains include a four-cornered building on the east side thought to have been a church, a cistern, and fragments of large jars known as kvevri.
