Story
Sinop Museum presents, in chronological order, the archaeological collection that grew from museum work begun in the city in 1921. Artifacts uncovered in necropolis excavations and in building foundations within the city were first kept at Mekteb-i İdadi, and the collection was moved to Pervane Medresesi in 1932. The galleries display vessels, metal tools, figurines, glass objects, and grave finds ranging from the Bronze Age to the end of the Byzantine period, alongside Sinop-made amphorae and coins. Stone and marble architectural fragments, milestones, tombs, statues, and mosaics in the garden complement the indoor displays.
