Editor's Note
The Church of Agios Nikolaos, built in 1703 in Özvatan (formerly known as Çukur), has not survived to the present day. However, the church's bell tower and the grave of the priest Saint Lazaros were restored in 2002 through the initiative of the Greek businessman Anastasios Panagiotidis. Since the Karamanlı people lived in Özvatan before the population exchange, it can be said that this church most likely belonged to the Karamanlı community.
