Editor's Note
The poet Ziya Osman Saba lived, until his death on 29 January 1957, in the house that previously stood at this spot. He wrote his poem "Misak-ı Milli Street No. 37" for this house shortly before his death; after he died, the house was demolished and an apartment building was put up in its place. There, among all the houses, all of a lifetime, was the house where we were happy. The one fate placed before us one day. Its pair of little rooms we furnished hand in hand.
