Editor's Note
Cizre Castle is a now-ruined fortress on the bank of the Tigris in the Cizre district of Şırnak. Comprising an inner and an outer section, two-thirds of its walls have been completely lost; part of the surviving southern section has lost its integrity because its stones were removed and reused in house construction.
