Inscription and History: On the building's main facade, within a tangent arch, are two relief-carved inscriptions arranged to fit the arch's form. The first is a single column of six lines written in Latin letters in Karamanli (Turkish in Greek script). The second, set in a rectangular cartouche at the lower right corner of the first, is a single line, again written in Latin letters in Karamanli. First inscription: 1 – XATZHΣTAY 2 – POΣTOANNOYΣN 3 – THMHDIOKO / OMHΣA / 4 – TAYTHNTHND / / / PA / / / 5 – KATAAYTOYΣ / / / / / / T / ETOY 6 – 1870. Second inscription: Λ.T.
