This is a memorial tomb erected by the local people for Tosyalı İsmail Hakkı Bey, who died of typhus in 1923 while serving at the Memleket Hospital in İnebolu, where Turkish soldiers infected with typhus during and after the Balkan Wars were sent for treatment. The obelisk-shaped monument bears an Ottoman Turkish inscription: "This monument was raised through the donations of the charitable in memory of a Muslim doctor whose name is now lost, who spent his life in the line of duty and attained God's mercy. We dedicate our prayers to their souls. Year 1339" (1923).
