Editor's Note

Built through the initiative of Tevfik Efendi, who served as Mayor of İnebolu, the building was constructed between 1905 and 1910 under the ownership of the İnebolu Municipality. It served as the Ottoman Bank until 1960 and was for a time used as an Industrial Vocational High School. Built on a north-south axis with a rectangular plan, in cut stone over a stone basement course, it is two stories high with a hipped roof; its most distinctive decorative feature is the cement tiles used in the interior floor paving. Its restoration was completed in 2007, and today the building serves as İnebolu's municipal headquarters.
