Editor's Note
In the early 13th century, Bayram Gazi, who commanded the Turkish tribes descending toward Kastamonu's Black Sea coast, was martyred in the struggle against the Greeks in the region. The village where he fell was named after him. Bayram Gazi was buried on the opposite bank of the Ezine Stream, which runs to the east of the village. The site of his grave was later turned into a tomb.
