Editor's Note
It is about 125 m long and 60 m wide. In addition to the headquarters and barracks sections, it has eight artillery rooms. The rooms, roofed with barrel vaults, are covered on top with a thick layer of earth. It was built between 1886 and 1888 by İsmail Hakkı Bey and the Fortification Commission. It is one of the 24 forts that formed Edirne's line of defense and encircled the city. Source: Edirne Inventory of Immovable Cultural Property, Vol. I (2013).
