This site lies within Sarıdanişment village, Lalapaşa district, Edirne province. The building that stands today was built on the site of the old mosque, which was demolished in 1974. The only part of the original structure to survive is its minaret, which shows 16th-century features. The base of the minaret, which is clearly well below ground level, lies largely buried under fill soil. Among the gravestones identified in the mosque's burial enclosure, the earliest legible date, AH 1071 (AD 1660), offers a clue to dating the mosque.
