Story
A mound 100 metres across and only four or five metres high, some 2 km southwest of Yeşilyurt village in Bilecik, which used to be called Aharköy. It sits 5 km north of its famous neighbour Demircihöyük, and that is where its importance lies: the Early Bronze Age material Demircihöyük failed to produce turned up here. Surface collection shows an Early Bronze Age settlement, with a smaller number of Phrygian and Classical sherds. Its grey wares resemble those of Troy II. The western part of the mound was partly destroyed when a natural gas line was laid.

Did you know
- The mound was first noted by the Demircihöyük excavation team surveying the area, then re-examined in 1988 during Turan Efe's surveys in Bilecik, Eskişehir and Kütahya.
- Among the finds is a broken battle axe of green stone.
- Turan Efe argues that battle axes were used in Anatolia from the second half of the third millennium into the early second, and that their use had nothing to do with migrations from the north.
- Demircihöyük, which some archaeological sources call the Sarıket cemetery, lies 5 km to the south.
