Editor's Note
As the city expanded eastward, it came to be surrounded by the Kavgaz district. It is a redoubt consisting of four rooms on a circular plan. It was built between 1886 and 1888 by İsmail Hakkı Bey and the Fortification Commission. It is one of the 24 redoubts that formed Edirne's line of defense and encircled the city.
