Editor's Note
It was built by İsmail Ağa, a man known for his philanthropy who lived in Edirne during the reigns of Fatih Sultan Mehmed and Bayezid II. As it bears no inscription, it is thought to have been built in 1463. It stands on the road leading to Sarayiçi. It is known by this name because it is located in the Baruthane (Gunpowder Works) district.
