Editor's Note
It was built by Fatih Sultan Mehmed in AH 856 / AD 1452. Its architect is unknown. It stands over the Tunca River between the Adalet Kasrı (Justice Pavilion) and the Balkan Martyrs' Cemetery. Because the palace was used as an arsenal in 1844, the bridge came to be called the Arsenal Bridge. Built entirely of cut stone, the bridge has three spans - a large one in the centre and smaller ones on the sides. The bridge is 34.20 m long and 4.40 m wide. Its arches are slightly pointed. Marble slabs were also laid over the riverbed beneath the bridge. Source: [1] (2013). Edirne Inventory of Immovable Cultural Property, Vol. I (pp.
