The plot where the now-vanished building once stood is registered as a "vacant lot." Source research has revealed that the masjid was built by Balaban Pasha in the 15th century, that it had a wooden roof and a single minaret, that after its founder died in AD 1446 he was buried in its courtyard cemetery, and that in later years the masjid was converted into a mosque. When it was demolished is unknown; the mosque's rubble was recorded as sold in 1926 and its plot in 1940.
