It is located in the basement of a two-storey reinforced-concrete building within the Fındık Fakih neighbourhood of Edirne's central district. Part of the cistern was found to extend beneath the street as an overflowing footprint. The cistern measures 10 by 5 m, stands about 4.5 m high from its present floor, is built in alternating-course masonry with lime mortar. In its northwest corner is a structure thought to be a hearth with Khorasan mortar. Its covering is of concrete and brick.
