It was built in AH 1270 (AD 1854) as a depot near such structures as the Edirne Infantry Barracks and the now-lost Artillery Barracks. It later continued to be used for the Cavalry Barracks built in 1880. It was constructed as a single-story building on a long, lengthwise rectangular plan. The building was repaired in 1942 by Fevzi Çakmak together with the Cavalry Barracks. Later, between 1975 and 2005, it was used as a provisions depot by the 54th Mechanized Brigade. Located within the grounds of the Cavalry Barracks, now used as the Trakya University campus, the building stands derelict today.
