Hoca İvaz Camii

Editor's Note

It once stood on Horozlu Bayır Street in the central district of Edirne province, in the garden of what is today the Edirne Industrial Vocational High School. The mosque, said to have had its walls and mihrab covered in tile and reported to have been built in AH 835 (AD 1432), was demolished in AH 1330 (AD 1914) and its plot was added to the Industrial School. Its inscription is recorded as: "In the days of Sultan Murad, son of Mehmed Han, El-Hacc İbrahim son of Halil and El-Hacc İvaz son of Hüseyin. 835."
