Information about the construction of the hospital building, which bears no inscription, comes from archival documents, official yearbooks, and the newspaper of the period. A document dated 9 July 1304 (Rumi) / 21 July 1888 (CE) states that, because the station center was located in the Karaagac area of Edirne, it was important to build a 200-bed hospital there; that the land on which the hospital would be built was donated by local residents who owned plots there; and that the construction costs of the hospital were met entirely by public donations rather than from the treasury.
