Editor's Note
The site of the church built in 1862 was approximately identified from information given by the villagers; however, only 2-3 gravestones found in the church courtyard could be located. Documents in the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archive indicate that, because the church had fallen into ruin, permission was requested in 1897 for it to be rebuilt, but whether it was actually rebuilt is unknown.
