Editor's Note

Located at the corner where Cumhuriyet Avenue meets Şükrü Naili Street in the Karakaş district, this building is two stories tall and built of brick masonry. It is divided in two by an open-roofed, L-shaped passage entered from Cumhuriyet Avenue and exited onto Şükrü Naili Street. The rectangular section of the building is registered as block 215, while the L-shaped section surrounding it is registered as block 256. The entire ground-floor facade consists of rows of arched display windows, while the upper-floor facades are plastered and divided by colonnettes rising along the arch axes.
