This building, belonging to Dodopoulos (Dodoğlu), one of the exchanged Greeks, was built in the late 19th century on today's Gazhane Street in the Karakaş neighbourhood by Greek master craftsmen. The factory, whose machinery was brought from Greece in 1885 and which was equipped with all manner of roller-milling apparatus, had a capacity to grind 260 sacks of flour a day. In the 1930s the building was used, via the factory's motor, to generate electricity for the town grid; in later years it fell into ruin from disuse and eventually collapsed, so that it has not survived to the present day.
