Eski Buzhane Binası, Kırklareli

It was built in the late 19th century as a mill on today's İstiklal Avenue in the Karakaş neighbourhood. In later years it was used, with a single motor, partly as an ice house and partly as a two-stone mill, and in the 1930s to generate electricity for the town grid. The ice house, which ran on a generator until 1941, had its mill section removed, and cooling began to be carried out by a compressor-driven electric grid. It was used by the municipality as a bakery between 1976-1980 and 1984-1989, and as a cinema in the 1990s.
