Kırklareli Eski Mezarlığı

The old cemetery in the centre of Kırklareli contains numerous gravestones inscribed in Ottoman Turkish, in turban-topped, fez-topped, cylindrical, skullcap, octagonal, ten-sided and plain forms, along with sarcophagus tombs and uninscribed menhir-shaped gravestones. Many of the gravestones in the area are broken and lie neglected. The old cemetery extends over a wide area. The cemetery is enclosed by a stone perimeter wall. Some of the gravestones are intact, while others have been damaged, broken, toppled or removed from their places.
