In an area within the forest 5.1 km northeast of the village of Akpınar there are traces of an old settlement and jar-shaped hollows carved into the rock. These are pithos-shaped jars cut into the natural bedrock, with circular mouths and depths ranging from 1.5 m to 2 m. About 10 jars, independent of one another and spaced 5–6 m apart, have been identified. They are thought to have been used for burial customs or for storage. Treasure-hunters have broken off their mouths and damaged them by digging out their interiors.
