Şükrüpaşa Mağara Manastırı

A natural cave formation used as a monastery, located in the forest 1.3 km northeast of the village of Şükrüpaşa in the central district of Kırklareli province. The section forming the main space of the church is surrounded on three sides by natural rock and open at the top. It measures roughly 7 by 15 meters. It is said that there was once a wall in front of this section and that it was covered by a tile-clad wooden roof. The traces of the beams that made up the roof can still be seen in the natural rock wall. From the south side one enters a natural cave that serves as a side chamber.
