These caves, located in the direction of the flow of the Hanak Stream in Ardahan's Hanak district, are spaces carved out of tuff but resemble caves in appearance. They are also known as underground shelters (catacombs). The caves consist of two sections: the first is the western (upper) part, and the second is the eastern (lower) part. The galleries in the upper part comprise a church and small shelters, while those in the lower part consist of an administrator's room and large rooms used for administrative purposes.
