Editor's Note
The Osmaniye Bridge (Kemalpaşa Bridge), within the boundaries of Artvin's Kemalpaşa district, stands over the Osmaniye Stream on the historic caravan road that runs east from the center of Artvin and is known to have provided access to the Caucasus from Roman times onward. A single-span stone bridge with a semicircular arch, it was built using the fill-wall technique, with finely dressed tuff stone on the arch and piers and roughly hewn basalt and tuff elsewhere. With a deck length of 28.70 meters and an arch span of 15.60 meters, it ranks among the largest bridges in the region.
