Inscription and History: On the main facade of the building there is a rectangular inscription panel set within a tangent arch, but the inscription it once held has not survived. The lost inscription read: "Let the thirsty drink the water of life from the Kanci Fountain; the cause of its repair was... sought what is right... charitable works..." (Cifci, 1995, p. 313). In terms of plan, material, technique and facade features, it resembles the Dagdelen Mosque Fountain in Safranbolu (1767-68) (Acar, 2008, p. 15), the Pasapinari Fountain (1794-95) (Acar, 2008, pp. 19-20), and the Cortlebasi Fountain in Bartin (1785) (Asma, 2003, s.
