Editor's Note
This was the siege of Ottoman-controlled Samsun by the Kubadoğulları principality in 1421. As a result of the siege, Samsun passed into the hands of the Kubadoğulları. Settlement was established on the site. Note: The location is an estimate. Since the Kubadoğlu army came from the south, it is assumed it would have laid siege from that direction.
