Editor's Note
It was built in 1266 during the reign of Kaykhusraw III. Durak Han is a caravanserai in Sinop's Durağan district, built in 1266 by the Seljuk vizier Pervane Muineddin Süleyman bin Ali. Following the classical arrangement of Anatolian Seljuk architecture, the building consists of two sections: an open courtyard part and a closed part. Originally part of a complex (külliye), the han's auxiliary structures such as a madrasa, mosque and bathhouse have not survived to the present day. Restored in 2007, the han has undergone changes to its architectural identity and is built of cut stone, rubble stone and brick.
