The inscription on the south face reads: His Excellency, the radiant face, the Emir of the Pilgrimage Ali, who in his time also served as the tax-collector of the Canik district; making common cause in his days with Mir Süleyman, praise be to God, they made all of Canik prosperous from end to end. To draw down blessings, for this thirsting water he brought forth, with news of the tomb among the works of charity. In their time they all succeeded in a good deed, seeking permanence in the good fortune of the Canik district. As the water of this valley flowed pure and bountiful, making it a public fountain for God's sake, it quenched the thirsty. This day a fountain…
