The Pir Ahmet Mosque was built in 1461 by order of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in the Taşköprü district of Kastamonu. Built in memory of Sheikh Hafız Pir Ahmet, who was martyred during the Trabzon campaign, the mosque stands out for its wooden architecture. The fact that Mehmed the Conqueror led the first Friday prayer here adds further historical value to the mosque. Still open to visitors today, it is one of the most important historical buildings in Taşköprü.
