Inscription and history: On the basin stone there is an inscription measuring 0.35 x 0.51 m. It is set in two columns of four lines within eight rectangular cartouches. Written in the celî ta'lik script, the inscription is in Ottoman Turkish. It reads: 1- For the soul of Hacı Ahmed Ağa, Mustafa and Mehmed beys revived and built this wondrous charity 2- May the thirsty remember the soul of Eflanilizâde; may its waters of charity flow ceaselessly until the Resurrection 3- Should not the doer of such a good deed, done for the sake of God, attain bliss and a fair return 4- Like a jewel …….
