Inscription and history: On the main façade of the fountain, within a tangent arch, there is a repair inscription. The marble inscription, measuring 0.40 x 0.54 m, is in a rectangular panel of five lines. Written in the celî ta'lik script, it is in Ottoman Turkish. It reads: 1- The benefactor of good deeds and charities 2- Macarzâde Bahadır Bey, who succeeded in repairing 3- this earlier charitable work, seeking 4- the pleasure of God, made this charity. May it bring inner healing, for the sake of God 5- the year 1293.
